"The next Alumni Trustee should have a broad and comprehensive knowledge of higher education, prior training, and applicable experience. I am confident my qualifications have prepared me to take on this task."

- Jeremy A. Morris

As an undergraduate, Jeremy was a director on the 2003 Indiana Memorial Union Board, RHA student government, Dean’s (McKaig) Student Advisory Board, Student Athlete Services mentor and tutor, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and NPHC Greek council president. While pursuing his graduate degree, he served as advisor for several IUPUI Greek organizations, conducted research for IUB’s Enhancing Minority Attainment diversity initiative, and IUPUI Chancellor’s (Bantz) Student Engagement Committee. During law school, he served as instructor for the IU partnership with Indianapolis Public School, Shortridge High School.

Currently, Jeremy serves as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.* He is also an Adjunct Law Professor at IU McKinney School of Law teaching subjects in criminal law. Active in the Indianapolis community, with special interest in the development of young minds and the city’s future, Jeremy is the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Iibada Dance Company and serves on the Board of Directors for Mapleton-Fall Creek Neighborhood Association. He is a licensed foster parent and prior to the pandemic, tutored children experiencing homelessness through School on Wheels.

Jeremy has strong institutional knowledge of Indiana University and the growing challenges in higher education. As a Black male, first-generation college student from a low-income household, he knows first-hand the prevailing issues still impacting students. Moreover, he has worked in higher education through various leadership roles during his career in student affairs and administration.
